Any suggestions for someone to take in some jeans from bootcut to straight? Not selvedge, just a few pairs of LuckyBrand that I picked up for cheap in the US without realising they were way too wide at the bottom.

You could try one of the decent looking dry cleaners on green lanes that offer alterations. When I looked into doing the same with proper tailors it was too expensive to be worth doing.

Son of Stag can do it, i've had a few pairs of non selvedge done there, but not recently, it was about 20 quid from memory.

You want cotton herringbone twill not a poly/cotton mix tho'... I can heartily recommend the Denime WW2 chinos, not sure where you'd buy them these days but they look and feel just like the real thing...

Cheers guys. Being tall and lanky dickies just look like bin liners on me. Would ideally like something a bit heavier as well that will break in nicely

How about Carhartt or, if you can find some in the sale, Filson?
-
• #2766
I figured so. Noone is thinner than me. I'll never be able to shift these, nice as they are...

maybe not heavy enough at 12oz, but they look comfortable and are not expensive.

They look bang on, thank you!
Just gotta figure out sizing

Cheers for the various suggestions. Will have a look into them.

I can vouch for Mr Blacks... very good stuff indeed... it's a tad Febrezze to start off with but gets rid of that 6 month stench

Er, if your jeans stink, then wash them. Quick soak in luke warm water with a little non-bio, but wash them.

Hi - any recommendations for alterations on raw selvedge, just need them taken up? I've just had my mind blown by the intricacies of chainstitch etc
- never been washed, how much should i chop of from 36" inside leg - I'm a 28" and want an inch of turn up
- Where in London, from googling I've found
a) Maurice Alterations Covent Garden - Dale
b) SonofStag
c) Rivet and Hide
anyone other recommendations?

Nope, still in rural Sweden. Hence the need to 'figure out' rather than 'try on' :)
How skinny are hou?
I have a pair of left field miners that are way too small for me.
