On the second course I did at Enigma with Geoff Roberts I basically just rocked up with a big box of tubes, braze-ons and the like, and told Geoff what I was planning to do. After he'd put his head in his hands and wept gently, he let me get on with it and build the frame I wanted. So it can be done, albeit on a second course in my case. If it was a 1-to-1 course I suspect Geoff could be persuaded to do something out of the ordinary.
