  • I don't find an average of 90-100rpm efficient for 7-10 hours of riding - the same point of view will you find in the audax thread.

  • I at least can't push 90rpm over a long time. Something between 60 and 70 is more realistic

  • I at least can't push 90rpm over a long time

Of course you can't, when you're running 50x15.

    This

  • Check out the cadences people are striving to in the audax thread.

  • Is it time to post the "Superfast"-video?
    I think it is:

  • Quite a less time than 7+ hours :)

  • Obvsly, was just a peer pressure thing to get @danslecarton into that #spintowin philosophy...
Jokes aside, if your knees hurt after 7 hours of riding you should gear down.

  • There could be some truth to that :)

  • You mean the pic, eh? :)

  • I'm on the gear down wagon - doesn't it show? :)

  • I'm happy that only my knees hurt, could have been worse :)
I'll definitely gear down for the next time, but anything lower than 3 seems to be inappropriate, especially for longer flat segments where I actually do 80-90 rpm

  • New seatpost arrived from cao hong tangxia town shitanbu yuan ling jiedao null tang sha zhen dong guan shi guang dong sheng!
Coming in at 186g I'll save about 40g over the Thomson and the setback should feel better for my butt but I need to get carbon paste before I install it. The stem is also in the waiting line to be replaced

As for the ratio, I'm quite convinced now that everything under 3 is inadequate for distances above 30km, especially for higher paced rides.

  • It's not in my preferred angle and colour but still nice and slightly longer (110mm) than the Thomson. But if anyone wants to swap his/her 17° beyond black for this, holla at me!
Bummer: we don't seem to have a T25 bit

I'm also waiting on the original Bontrager clamp from the LBS so I can finally install the seat post. That thing cost nearly as much as the seat post itself, lol

  • Update!
This bike has been my daily for a good while now. I've ridden it through the whole winter, I crashed once while pulling mad whip skidz™ and put another huge dent in the rear rim because I still can't bunny hop. Still fun!

Not sure on the stem though. I'd like to have a 100mm 10° one again. Any recommendations except Thomson?

  • love those tyre colour it match errthing...go 17° and get some lowstack headset cover

  • Noice.

  • I thought about that but the old Course SL stem doesn't come by very often.

  • dont need to be zipp kalloy one will work

    or this

  • What are the tyres? Bike is great, glad it's getting ridden in anger. Your avg speed over that 153km was impressive too!

  • I'm fixiefamous now

@alialias thanks! Tyres are GP Classics. They were on sale for 22€ each :)

@AlphaOmega yeah... no. If Zipp, then the old Course SL preferably in beyond black. Too bad there aren't many 10° stems.

  • buy new the bike deserve it

  • Nothing changed much but used the weekend at my parents place to clean up the bike
