  • Or come down the weekend before and race at Ardingly. That's a great course, a mix of fast, flowing sections and some trickier technical bits.

  • This talk of timing chips is making me concerned that I didn't get one when I registered on Sunday. Just a number me for me and the bike. Not that it matters particularly.

  • The timing chip is in the bike number.

  • I thought that might be it.

  • Perfect didn't realise there were two. On the day entry as well which is perfect!

  • The 1st of October race is at Happy Valley now too. Moved from Stanmer Park.

  • Free.

A pair of iron cross on novatech 6 bolt hubs.
    Both need bearing overhaul.
    Se26 collection.
Tubeless tape included. Valves should be there.

  • QR.

  • Are they still round? Bearing replacement on these isn't so onerous.

  • They look fine. If it's not that tricky, or expensive, I may change my mind on their availablity.

  • And not buy a new pair of replacement wheels. Because the shed is killing me.

  • If you have the same hubs as I did the front bearings will be non standard and spendy whereas the rear can be sourced from normal bearing shops.

Did mine for £45 for six bearings - a hefty chunk of that was the two front bearings. Took about two hours - first time - in a workshop tho with a good bench vice and axle clamps.

  • Given I have children, no time, and insurance will buy me new wheels...

    Edit : £45 ? Plus shop time?
    Hmm.

  • I think freecycling in that case is very fair

  • Free! Someone come and get them!

  • I'll come and collect them please! Pm incoming.

  • Going tubeless. Vittoria anyone got them working on Pacenti SL23?

  • I've got CL25s I think, but Vittorias tend to go on like a dream.

  • but Vittorias tend to go on like a dream.

Unless they are the tubeless specific pair that I have that are borderline impossible to get on a rim...unless by dream you meant FUCKING NIGHTMARE

The other, non tubless specific pair went up on Iron Cross fine.

  • Is anyone racing Happy Valley on Sunday? Is it a fun course? Contemplating whether to make a full day of going down there.

  • Not usually a great course if you like varied terrain and conditions.

It's all grass with some draggy stretches

Didn't race there last season though, so I'm not 100% sure if anything has changed.

  • Is anyone racing Happy Valley on Sunday? Is it a fun course?

I'm going. Never raced there, but I think it will be a bit dull from what I've heard. But want to give it a try.

  • It's a grass crit, nothing technically challenging at all. The forecast might make it more interesting than usual.

  • mmm, weather looks lovely...
