It's definitely not the MTB. I didn't ride at all this weekend or Monday yet woke up with aching knuckles, particularly the end one on the left middle finger. I can't recall doing anything out of the ordinary with it and it wasn't an issue at 1am before I went to bed. Hmm... there's some talk of Xarelto/Riva causing pains but most people using it are 60+ so I expect them to ache all the time.

Hehe I think I might've worked it out.
I started wearing both my DVT socks (one on each leg, crazy, I know) and they're real bastards to put on. This morning I realised I'm using my finger tips a lot to pull them on. I reckon I might be straining my fingers somehow. If I stop wearing them and it goes away, case closed.

Mark Beaumont finishes today.
I can't express just how in awe I am of this achievement. The logistics required, and it went so smooth. He's and his team are incredible.

Mikko is actually also the organizer of this event.
Raimo is riding as a pair with Esa Salonen.
Great event. Looking forward to the northern part. 1160km down and about 600 to go.

Not a bad little chunk taken off the previous record. :)

Going to be hard to beat.
It's not the cycling that will be hard, but the streamline logistics. Behind the scene he had an impeccable team.

Raimo and Samuli have passed the 3rd control point in Ruska 2017. with this waiting before the finish:
After Ivalo the route gets even less populated. There is essentially nothing for the last 250 kilometers. Just poorly growing forests, more fells and lakes. And if you are lucky, northern lights, reindeers and pure joy of cycling because you are almost done.
Looks like you are having a strong ride @samuli, well done!

Rather strong indeed, I was the first finisher. About 1750km in 4d 3h 4min, so about 424km/day average and I finished at about when I aimed to or slightly earlier.
