  • @mashton and I are both enjoying the guiding of my paternal hand, btw

  • All just guestimates at the moment, so I'm not sure. I try to be pessimistic about costs until I actually see them.

Too long spent answering searching questions from project managers has taught me to never under estimate if I can help it.

Engine should be back from the machiner tomorrow so we will see what is what later this week, hopefully.

  • Pass the hand cream.

  • The interior is great and the screen has been incorporated into the design, not just slapped in. Major gripe of nearly all new car with big screens (hi Tesla), they just look shit.

  • Loving this.
No way the production version will have that stance though and sensible wheels.

  • @TRA really fond of both those cars, makes me miss my 306 GTi-6 and it's induction howl. When removing the AC from the Eunos, before I plugged the bulkhead it all came flooding back momentarily.

  • Deal done today, unsure of next purchase. In need of some R&R and then buy something more practical.

  • It looked pretty practical there!

    340 estate. Done.

    Next question?

  • On the way home, M1 being shut is a bit of a bugger, going via Oxford.

  • Interestingly walking up to the car having just paid for some petrol was the first time my reaction has been "that's a 911", I guess dropping it 20mm has changed the way it sits significantly.

  • Looks like you need some wider wheels now ;-)

  • Lux camp

  • Some photographs of day one at Centre Gravity: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1342308#1342308

After seeing that initial alignment, I'll bet your subframe is shifted. Looks like compensation for shifted subframe.

Before doing the alignment make sure subframe is centered.

Edit: whoops see your already out of shop. Measure the horizontal distance the wheels sit in from fenders... Symmetrical?

  • I wonder if the Honda designer wanted it to look like a Honda?

  • You think the whole front of the car has been knocked over to one side and that somehow one of the most well respected car suspension companies in the country missed it while checking and adjusting every setting on the car?

The bloke from Centre Gravity has driven more 996s than probably anyone else anywhere ever.

I'd say it's unlikely he missed it.

  • Yeah, but is it centred tho

  • I can confirm that according to Pete from CG it's a straight chassis/un-pranged.

  • More importantly - how's it rolling on the new gold?

  • Four hours of motorway was not the best test! I'll put a couple of hundred miles of A and B road under the wheels at the weekend.

  • Pete checking that it's exactly 118mm:

    And that this is 135mm:

  • @Dammit had a quick flick through the picks... Firstly, must be a good feeling getting the chassis sorted. I was shocked at how pitted some of the components are. You forget how harsh uk environment is to metal. Does any of that need replacement or is that just how it is?

  • Looks good low BTW, not practical, but good

  • Have you seen the prices of original civics lately? Nuts!
