So close to pulling the trigger on this.

Do you ever take your bike with you in your car?
-
• #1280
I don't have a car, but if I do sometime rent and put in the car.
Why?
-
• #1281
Looks like a pirate bike.
Arrrgh, shiver me wooden leg, etc.

You'll have to remove the brake caliper before you can take your front wheel off to get it in a car.. It's really annoying.
-
• #1283
Ah. Yes, that sounds annoying indeed.
-
• #1284
Gonna be pretty rare you need to take the front off though. Pretty much only swapping wheels or putting it in a car. You can change tyres and tubes without taking the wheel off

And its fucking rad

Ive taken the front wheel off my gravel bike about 30 times in the last 4 months.. And I didn't have punctures.

Well you're just exceptional. So to speak

You've been counting?

Would love one of these CX1 models with the boistrous purple anodizing, but sadly can't find one anywhere.
The 105 version in green can be had for £1350. Might even put my R685 shifters on it to make an ultegra version.

My only gripes are no mudguard mounts (duh) and restricted to certain tyre width and wheel size which is still niche.
-
• #1292
I think of this bike as a pure gravel bike so wouldn't want mudguards on it personally.
Wheelsize is odd choice. but offers some voluminous tyres. (The WTB Horizon fits). I wonder if one can use 650b for CX races.

The CX1 version looks incredible with the ano cranks. Would, but I'm too big for 650b

I've been riding my 'gravel bike' in Epping forest today, on gravelly roads, with no mudgaurds.....I'm covered from head to toe in beige slurry.
I will be fitting some tomorrow

Don't see the point in riding off road only to get home mud free... that's part of the fun!

I've heard so many people say this. Please come and ride 60 miles of Devon's finest shittiest farm tracks and tell me you don't wish you had mudguards.

As long as you're not riding UCI ranked races, which is pretty much only National Trophy races in the UK, then you can ride what you like.
