You don't challenge for the title from 5 points behind after 5 games. The fact remains Tottenham cannot win league games at Wembley and have as much chance of the title as Liverpool.

Bullshit.
Teams that win the title are the ones who are consistent all season long, not who go off like a 5 bob rocket. City looked like champions-elect after ten games last season, but fizzled out and Chelsea overhauled them easily.
Spurs need to get that first win in soon, otherwise it'll become a psychological barrier, but you can't write them off after 5 games.

Consistent yes. Consistently failing to win over half of the first five games and then consistently winning from then on. How's that consistency?

Looking at the table after 5 games of last season shows Chelsea 5 points behind City.

Get to fuck! Since you're tired of moaning about your own team's inadequacy after the opening games of the season you've decided to piss in the wind about Spurs, who for some reason I've never understood live on your shitlist.
Our home form in the league was never going to be as good as last season, I wasn't expecting it to. But the constant Wembley hoodoo bollocks and the lemming like attraction it holds for other fans looking in at Spurs to explain why we aren't winning every game at Wembley, makes me want to pimp slap every last one of you.Throw your own season out after five games because your support is as flimsy as your back four. I'm not because as a club we've started slowly and finished strongly before and we've consistently challenged for the league the last two seasons whereas Liverpool...

The sarcasm is strong with this one.

• #138335
Umm I don't have any issue with Spurs whatsover and I'd sooner see them win it than any of the other rabble. But the way you have started the season suggests that won't happen.

• #138336
Was just about to refer to this but you saved me the trouble... TBH I didn't think we'd win the title last season, even we were as far ahead as we were...

Been meaning to get a dump of all of the Premiership results since football began (i.e. 1992) to try and answer two questions:-
a) Is the gap between the top teams and the rest getting wider?
b) Do teams in the CL suffer from those extra games (making it easier for non-CL teams to win) e.g. Leicester 2015/16 and Chelsea 2016/17.But this thread may not be the place for facts...maybe next season.

we actually played well yesterday, after they scored
we just need to concede a few less and score a few more -

We've got a tricky looking game at home to Lyon this evening. Confident the boys will get a few goals after their drubbing of Celtic mid-week

No but I agree with most of what he says.

Incredible...

No bedwetting here. The fact is spurs drew and went up a place in the table. Not ideal but Arsenal are due a result at the bridge and the injuries and creaks have started appearing at united. Two draws today or maybe a koeman away win

Nah, just tired of mike constantly dragging spurs into his football depression cycle, because he's got no patience with Liverpool's progression.
Fuck that! No chance of challenging for the title because we're five points back. Thank Christ @Greenbank had some hard facts to back up my disagreement...
And a clean sheet. Not to be sniffed at.
