Not sure, but assume so as that's where they put the reinforcements

Yes, that's what I thought from your description.

My caad3 was stolen from Berlin, so more to vent than anything.
Locked in my cellar, door was opened by brute force by the looks of it. Devastated, I put a lot of time and thought into this bike and riding it was a dream.
Few markets to hit this weekend and Ebaykleinanzeigen will be watched like a hawk but I'm not hopeful.

Road or track wheel? How was it secured to the frame? (Quick release.. etc)
Will keep my eyes peeled...

Road wheel with a Dura Ace quick release skewer. Pissed off since I was literally on my way to put a security skewer on it when it was stolen. Will have to put a Spinergy on my Roberts, now 🙃

The London cycle parking map.
https://www.stolenride.co.uk/cycle-parking-map-london/
We have pulled out every London cycle parking location that has been entered onto OpenStreetMap + created an optional layer of police data - reported stolen bikes (over 1 year).

Interestingly, judging by where the dots are, the records of stolen bikes are mostly (perhaps all? I can't tell) from homes, i.e. burglaries, where the police can easily enter a location. That's hard to do if something gets stolen from the street.

Hey Oliver. It's hard to tell, as there is no pinpoint accuracy. A dot might be a 100 metres from the actual theft location. I doubt they would put the coordinates of someones house or business.
This is what they say on the police website about locations:
"Location Anonymisation - The latitude and longitude locations of
Crime and ASB incidents published on this site always represent the
approximate location of a crime — not the exact place that it
happened."In the data, locations say "on or not near X road".
In an ideal world we would be able to see the rate of theft on a cycle parking level - that would be great. We also wish there was formal public data set for cycle stands (all councils publishing data) - OpenStreetMap is user driven so lacks controls.

Ladies Bike with broken Mudguard outside west Norwood Sainsburys, Crystal palace triangle
I have put a note on this bike, which is locked up, but looks like it has been vandalised and ababndoned. It says I'll fix it for free if they contact me via twitter @william_wyld
I really don't want to see another abandonded bike, and another person have to stop cycling! If you might have a freind who has a freind who knows the person, spread the word.

Hello everyone and thank you for your time in reading this.
My girlfriend had her Cannondale Quick stolen from the upstairs hallway outside our flat in Haringey, London on Sunday 17th September, between 11.30am and 3pm.
As I'm sure you'll all understand the bike means a lot to her over and above its cost; any help recovering it would be very much appreciated—please message me!
Stolen – Cannondale Quick CX414 Medium
Colour: Grey and black
Frame number: 14B002835When stolen it had a black panier wrack and a kryptonite D lock attached to the frame. The back tyre is different to the front tyre. The back is a Marathon Plus.
The handlebars have been trimmed slightly and have been fitted with handlebar ends.
Another distinctive feature is that the bike is marked "FATTY" on the front forks.

Damn. Sorry to hear that! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I was an awful neglectful owner

It has just been given the service it needed. It's been fully torn down, cleaned, and rebuilt. New bars, tape, etc. It's starting to come together quite nicely.
I'm already considering a full Ultegra 6800 upgrade. Either way, it's a lovely bike which I'll hopefully get tons of use out of
Ta for the info. So it was broken into through the mesh, too?
It still seems as if there have been very few incidents and most thieves probably think it's too much risk.
