Am out in the sticks in the US somewhere but found a bottleshop yesterday. Asked them to choose half a dozen beers for me.

The weakest is 8%, strongest is 12.5%. Americans really are keen on stupidly strong beer.

Paul is well aware of it. Massive Twitter storm happened, the sun and the times wrote articles. All got a bit mad, hence Paul's blog.

On a similar note, is there still a legal requirement to have drinks prices displayed in a pub. I'm sure that used to be the case but it doesn't seem to happen much now which is ironic as there can be such a wide array of prices with some being very high.

The Uto beer retail stall in the market itself takes the piss with mark ups.

Ah right, chicken & egg. Been offline alot until yesterday so missed the popcorn.

Basically Rake said keg was expensive because they have to buy from a distributor as Cloudwater won't sell single kegs. Distributor revealed their keg price is only £2.50 more than Cloudwater and they took a hit on their usual profit margin so it wouldn't be too expensive. Rake haven't taken the same attitude and have sold it at their usual mark up.

What they haven't explained is why they have a session beer from a meh brewery for £8.80 a pint.

Mother Kelly's were called out yesterday for having a Cloudwater session beer for £4.50 a third. They've claimed this was a typo on their menu.

I know a guy who knows the Berlin beer scene well, not on here think he be on twitter tho (incoming intro there if so).

@hippy he's not on twitter. I'll ask him for some places to go, be tomorrow now.
