@Si46, I think buyers do the price of the things. So I can say that a friend spent 3000 for a complete vph (chateuax d'AX white and red, like this one) and is the more expensive one that I remember. In Ebay u can find the 8000€ one, but the price is made by buyers, not sellers.
By the way, keep it and don't think a price to sell it.

Yes you are right. Many sellers get a bit optimistic with values. The thing with bikes and parts is you often find the same item selling for widely disparate prices depending ,as you say, on what the buyer is prepared to pay at the time.
With the vph's people pay more for the earlier ones with the seatbolt underneath - although I think they changed this as they cracked. Moser has a track one in red/white with seatpost bolt on top in his garage though.
I think these are great frames because of the design, the history and the fact that there are not many around and no longer made and a great investment piece. However I would agree - a bit over priced.
I have a complete one , double discs, NOS or absolutely mint Dura Ace 7400 as used on the Chateau D'Ax Va Por la Horas and of course the NOS re-machined Super Record seatpost which I would realistically expect to make around £4500 at the moment.
