Surly the Chinese burn is the worst of all deaths?

Is this the beginning of my slow descent into cycling video warrior pendantry? Reported this driver for being a selfish dick and driving up the A10 bus lane.

Nah, fuck him

This been posted yet? Feel free to tweet @virginmedia your disgust. Driver just annoyed at waiting in a traffic queue, and didn't like the cyclist filtering? There is oncoming traffic and he puts the cyclist into the other lane. Start watching at the 2:30 mark.
Can fucking van drivers please stop taking swipes at us FFS.

fuckinghell that's insane.

Hate that section of road so much, had a BMW undertake someone at like 50+ mph easily about a meter away from me absolutely soiled myself

Last week some wretched bus-driving prick thought he'd punish me with a seriously close pass for being in alongside him as he wanted to pull away from the kerb - delaying him by 5 seconds.
Just received this. Is this a result? I can't tell.
Dear Mr ABC (not my real name)
Thanks for your feedback form of 4 August about the poor standard of
driving on route 265. I’m sorry the driver didn’t leave any space when
overtaking your vehicle. I understand how frightening this must’ve
been for you.The safety of our customers and road users is our highest priority. We
go to great lengths to train our bus drivers to very high standards. We continue to monitor driving performance, to ensure that high
standards are followed and maintained. Every month we carry out over
600 Driver Quality Monitoring surveys. This provides us with technical
assessments of their driving skills. Drivers are assessed on
acceleration and braking, as well as the use of mirrors and road
positioning.Poor driving or driving without due care is simply unacceptable. I’ve
contacted London United, the operating company that runs this route
for us. I’m pleased to say that, with the bus registration number and
video evidence you’ve provided, the driver will be identified. A
manager will call him in for an interview after which, appropriate
action will be taken to address the behaviour you experienced. In accordance with our privacy policy, we cannot divulge specific
information regarding disciplinary action taken against drivers. I can
advise more generally however that drivers can be issued warnings,
written or verbal, may be suspended or relieved of their duties
altogether, depending on the outcome of any investigation performed by
the operator in line with their internal disciplinary procedure.I’m sorry once again for any inconvenience this caused you.
Thanks again for contacting us. If there is anything else we can help
you with, please reply to this email. Alternatively, you can speak to
one of our Customer Service Advisers on 0343 222 1234 who will be
happy to help you.Kind regards
Mercy Ani

I know that road, (van driver a few posts up) it's Manchester road from Cheadle towards Paris Wood just as it crosses the M60. Speaking of cunts deliberately knocking people off, apparently someone just knocked my boss off the work bike, don't know details yet though but he's OK.

Typically didn't have my camera with me today but got overtaken with about 6 inches to spare at speed by a black lexus by dulwich picture gallery this morning.
Caught up to him at the lights and I genuinely politely asked him if he wouldn't mind leaving a bit more space when overtaking cyclists. Among other things he said. "I'll run you over and laugh at your kids when you're dead"
What level of scumbag do you have to be to come out with something like that?
-
• #7837
Shocking. People are fucking horrible.
-
• #7838
Seems pretty standard (I've had similar responses) but I suspect that if a driver gets too many of those they'll be in trouble. It's not worth it for big companies to have potentially dangerous drivers from a financial viewpoint, never mind anything else.
-
• #7839
Man that's fucked, honestly why are people like that? What did you say to him? That section of road is so bad for encouraging close passes, if I have to go down that way I try to avoid it (understand regular users can't do that!)
-
• #7840
he said. "I'll run you over and laugh at your kids when you're dead"
What level of scumbag do you have to be to come out with something like that?
A scumbag who gets reported to the police for a credible threat of violence?
-

A result of sorts. Don't want to piss on your cornflakes but I've had the exact same response (bar a few minor details) and I'm in Bristol! They obviously use a scripted response and 'fill in the blanks'.
Optimistically speaking, if they do genuinely interview every driver that gets reported, we should in theory see a gradual improvement countrywide. That said I suspect it is akin to trying to warm the ocean up by taking a piss in it.
Sorry for the double use of piss analogies. -

Literally all I said was "hi there excuse me would you mind leaving a little more space when overtaking cyclists you were really close." Said in a consciously non aggro tone of voice.
I wish I'd had my camera on like.usual but I'd forgotten it after charging it up and I didn't have the presence of mind to get his number. Otherwise I would definitely report him. He was driving like a total prick all the way up to The cross roads at JAGS where I caught up to him.

"I'll run you over and laugh at your kids when you're dead"
Man, reading that made my blood boil. I don't think I could keep my fists to myself if someone said that to me.
-
• #7844
He said it literally just as the lights changed and he zoomed off. My polite demeanour left me by then. Genuinely shocked. I've been threatened and sworn at plenty of times before. but that level of vile I've not experienced before. And I don't even have kids.
Camera charged and back on today.

Man, I'd have chased him down and put a foot through his window
-
• #7846
I'll be tempted to trim his wing mirrors, the massive cunt. And if he got out point out his many failings as a human being with my d-lock.
-
• #7847
Of course, the d-lock would make a fabulous wing mirror trimmer.

What's the latest advice on how to best report dangerous driving? Saw a skip-lorry driver turn left over a cycle lane at traffic lights. Wasn't indicating. Very nearly crushed a guy. I have reg number, time, location: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.555935,-0.0156357,3a,75y,211.29h,85.54t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sEplKS55lNV_jRax5KeQKmg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Once you know Cipolla's theory of stupidity it's hard not to see it everywhere. A prime example is the van driver upthread. In the end where did that maneuver get him? Same with the lexus driver. So many pointlessly dangerous passes only to catch the fuckers at the next lights. It's always the first thing I say: 'and where did it get you?' http://www.quadllc.com/Quadrivium/Blog_and_Articles/Entries/2011/3/15_Prof._Cipollas_theory_on_stupidity.html

Thank you for that link.
I will discretely check with others where they place me.
Shame he wasn't a producer on Top Gear a couple of years ago.
