what would a track champion, frame only, in good condition be worth right now ?
-
• #3729
Just the frame? probably £100.

Been fettling mine a bit recently and think I got it setup pretty much how I want it now, just need to find a front wheel that goes with the rear one a little better (/at all!).

Destickered mavic cosmic (if rear is mavic).
-
• #3732
Destickering that one will make it match pretty well. They'll never be perfect because you run a front brake (thankfully)

Also, seatpost is maybe the only bit letting it down though it looks like you need the setback. Otherwise very very nice build

2017 Precursa geometry is surprise surprise wrong.
Got 58cm Precursa, 74 degrees seat angle mean saddle is not set that far forward, except this time it set further back.
Meaning it's realistically 75 degrees, not a claimed 74 degrees.
Will measure properly soon.

Oh Dolan

• #3736
Didn't you just have a Vigorelli?

Also true witchcraft how the reach shortens from size 56 to 58 when a longer top tube is applied, but angles stay the same :D

I'm thinking the stack and reach is actually correct, but the rest of the number is not, as the reach is similar to my old Surly Steamroller in 59cm.

Hmm... Just to check, anyone notice that the lower bearing cup on the 2017 ones has a wavy/rough finish compared to the prior ones (or the top cup of the 2017)?

It is possible -> https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13364980/ & https://www.lfgss.com/comments/13365063/
(But yes dolan´s measurements could still be wrong)
Tldr: if all angles are the same "effective reach" progresses with Top tube length

Surly was sold because 73 degrees seat angle, was riding the Vigorelli for the time being until the Dolan arrived to replace the Surly.
Seat tube being that steep mean I can fit Steamroller fork on it and saddle still be near the middle of the clamp, so that's a win for me.

Does anyone know if the frame is any difference between the Track and Grass Track framesets? Obviously the Grass comes with the large clearance fork but the frames look identical to me - hoping someone could shed some light
-
• #3743
It's just the fork I think.

The FXE has frame differences to the PreCursa: longer chainstays, rack mounts, rear brake guides...
-
• #3745
Yeah I thought as much, thank you!

• #3746
I need some new cranks for my pre Cursa. The Stronglight 2000s are a good price on planet x at the moment, but I've heard there are clearance issues with the Pre Cursa frame. Is anyone using them successfully with a normal chainline?
-
• #3747
Using them no prob, but it's on an older frame with less tyre/more crank spider clearance.
-
• #3748
I'm not sure how old my frame is actually. Would you mind sending a picture of your chainring/chainstay/tyre so I can compare mine? Thanks!

total shot in the dark, but maybe someone knows where to get Dolan stickers like these: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/omkAAOSwbWdZkGpV/s-l1600.jpg

It's a bit tight, but never noticed it rub while riding. At the point of potential contact, the powdercoat has been previously 'scrubbed' by the SG75 that was fitted previously.

Well, a 18t sprocket would be more apt!
