Time for an update.
Thanks to some help from Brixton Cycles, the old headset and remaining BB cup have been removed and my Stronglight A9 classic has been installed. This required some facing of the fork crown and head tube so I'm glad I outsourced that!
I have put back the original stem, bars and Weinmann 750, Vainquer 999, centre pull front brake. This will take KoolStop 6 Dot salmon compound pads that are on order.
Also put the existing moustache bars back into the stem. I doubt they are original but they may be and I like them.
As for wheels, I decided I couldn't live with those horrible black aero-ish State POCs. @Aroogah said it all really.
So, as they are old but still true and look good I am keeping as much of the original wheels as possible. They also have the benefit of being 27inch.
The front wheel will stay as is and I will rebuild the rear rim into a Miche Primato high flange track hub. That will be my first ever wheel build, which I am looking forward to. Any tips on how to measure ERD for spoke length calculations?
Once the wheel is built, and the Andel Zenith crankset is in my hands, I can measure the chainline and buy an appropriate Shimano UN55 bottom bracket.
