If my MTB has a rear 160mm brake but no apparent adapter does that mean that 160mm is the smallest size I can go for or will 140mm fit?

Number one is undisputed

So 160mm?

You can get reducer mounts. I have a spare you're welcome to if you want to try it. It let me fit a 140mm front on a genesis equilibrium that normally takes minimum 160mm, but I've now got a 160mm on it.

This one?
-
• #10684
Yep. There are two versions, one for AM 10 speed setups and one for DH setups with a close block. You need the former.
Assume this isn't a full sus frame you are fitting it to? If so you might need something with a longer cage like the SLX described above. But if its a hardtail with 1x10 then you can't go wrong with the zee.

It is what I haz and was going to suggest, just about works with 11-40 sunrace cassette too or one of those 40t hope expander things on my Gary Fisher and my mates Trek Stache

Correct! Shortened the chain and fiddled with front chainline yesterday, tried it again in the local woods and no chain drop this time. Will get the zee if it becomes a problem again though, thanks!
Edit: and different pedals and tyres.

Yea, heard about this. Real shame. I liked the shop and the cafe. Had some good times there.

Until you discovered BPW?

Mixed the two quite a bit actually - they are very different

This just happened, any recommendations for good novice trails (SE based) in/near London? Swinley worth a visit? Also thinking of doing some skill sessions at Lee Valley if anyone has any experience of them?

Is that a pinnacle ramin? Looks nice!

Iroko with Reverb, so far mighty impressed, just needs better pedals/rider.

• #10696
Looks decent though!

Worth keeping an eye on this thread: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/269742/newest/
Epping is great fun and pretty easy going regarding technical difficulty.
Not SE, but a few folks (including myself) often ride out from SE London.

I'm in SE too. I'm compiling a load of offroad routes near this part of the world to be published shortly on here. For now try Epping with the badgers, Thames Path, etc

What's this... competition?

Do we need a badger cull?
The short cage AM Zee mech is the one you need.
