Good luck! Those little retaining wire ring things made me swear a lot. I got a tiny flathead screwdriver just under the end of the wire when it was on the shallow side of the pedal and managed to lever it up (on about the 100th try).
Not sure if I mentioned, but they're clicking even more since the bearing swap. Enraging.
Might start carrying mine for that very purpose. With the extra tips and how poorly the tips stay on you can do it to at least 4 drivers too.
I've done my bearings today including needle bearing swap. Used tweezers to get the circlip out, first one came out really easily, second one took a while.
Bastard bit was the tiny retaining wire ring on the needle bearing. First one took ages, caused much rage. Ended up sticking the pedal body in a vice and using the tiniest screwdriver I own. Had to wedge it under and then snap it up. Second one was easy. Both pedals feel better now, but I think 3.6nm is a little too much. Pumped full of grease with cheapo grease gun and lithium grease.
Hopefully that'll resolve the clicking. If not, I'm not sure what I'll do?
