We mostly are. Lea Valley, my club, has only has open 25 and 30 events left. The shorter events will be Hill Climbs..

no idea, guess its more akin to pro riding rather than being the best at drafting...

I should have said, I was thinking about weeknight events. My Sundays are accounted for until the end of September, by which time it's surely all over.

no idea, would have thought so, the weekday ones were closing on something around that but then they only had 80 odd riders...

Having 8 other championships just wasn't enough...

Yes, and it's dark by 8. There's a chain gang night @ the Velopark on thursday evenings

How much of a negative split would anyone recommend for the R25?
-
• #16485
in reality pretty even, as the return leg is usually helped by a nice tailwind, which means once you hit the flat you'll have to work fairly hard to maintain speed.
I did 248/256 for 51:42 (caveat that my pm seems to read lower than others/im slippery as an eel)

Not much - one course I would actually advise against the normal "don't go out to hard". Get up to speed and ride hard from the start until you get to the hill - and recover on the descent.

Sage, cheers guys.

when are you riding?

Last event there is the 10th I think.

Can't be bothered riding up and down any A roads for a time so thought it might be "fun" to have a look at this but I don't understand its point. Is it some kind of come and try it event to get people racing who wouldn't otherwise ride car-filled roads?

it was quite a broad spectrum last year from some of the best in the sport to a few local choppers, looks like a bit of fun so I'll probably give it a crack, hopefully the weather will be a bit better this year.

Found a thread on it from a couple of years ago. Lots of juniors, bit of drafting, ttf whinging but sounds like most people had a bit of fun. I've put it in my calendar as a 'maybe' but time will tell if I can be bothered. I'm still suffering from the rib/stomach thing I did during TCR and a general 'meh' about everything. Probably should see someone about that rib thing.

I've turned into an old man... I look at £25 for the 11ish miles and think "I raced 24hr for that".

kind of bonkers that its cheaper than the other nationals though, given that there is actually a cost renting a track rather than just a sports centre somewhere....
-

I might enter. Lets all bring a crate of beer along for afters, my partner can drive me home.

link to this year's event?

No idea what the cutoff would be
Finishing times ranged up to 37 minutes last year, so I don't suppose the cut off was too stringent if there was one at all.
-
• #16499
I don't know if there was a cutoff if they had kids and 70yo racing.

Why limit it to after?
Drunken forum invasion. Sounds funtastic.
What are the closest club 10s to (North/East) London that are still running? If any, as I guess they're winding up now.
