A 1. Yep. Go to Home > Pictures and copy "Photos Library" over to HD then delete, launch Photos app it'll ask where your library is, direct it to it.
A 2. That looks to be last gens base model, the newer version is cheaper than that originally was (1,249.00) but come with half the storage so thats still a great deal IMO. I have the higher end model and it makes my 2013 MacBook Pro feel slow and badly put together.

I've got a 2011 macbook pro. Still going strong, but iphoto, which I use heavily is getting really slow. Price of the new ones had put me off replacing it.
Question 1: Is there a way I can put all of my photos on a hard disk (deleting them off my computer), then plug the disk in and see everything in iphoto organised as I can see them now?
Question 2: Macbook pro 13" on currys for 1099 (instead of 1449 on apple - looks to be same spec). Should I just pull the trigger and replace my current one, or will apple be updating this with something I should consider holding out for?
