I wouldnt bother for racing cross. Surely courses dont have enough elevation change for it to have a meaningful difference?
Theres also a good chance the bung is needed to reinforce the steerer from the inside, meaning without it the fork could crack. Youd also be introducing a load of mud into your steerer
It feels fast. I am real happy.
To do is tilting bars down a tad and move levers up, then bar tape and shortening of cables. Hopefully I'll get time to pick up my front wheel at Stayer tomorrow or at least during the week.
I think I'll ride it with latex inners and 40c Challenge Gravel Grinder plus for a bit to get comfortable on the bike. Maybe do September like this and then go tubeless in October when rain starts falling more often and courses start getting soggy. But I really want to weigh the entire bike with tubeless setup.
Edit: Is it stupid to remove carbon bung and top cap, for weight savings, after correction tension on headset is reached?
