Alpine III are sturdy as hell, perfect for the older meat fan.

Pillar black spokes are £1.30 a pop.
Silver £1.10. -

No mention of CN spokes yet?

• #6430
Which type of pillar? Is this their cx-ray equivalent?
1420?
-
• #6431
1422 is closer to CX Rays dimensionally but I think 1420s are easier to source.

So, 28H Pacenti SL25 are available for £30 from Planet X and I have £150 left over from a Evans C2W voucher - which gets me CX75 hubs
Thoughts on this as a wheelset? Will be going on a CAAD10 Disc - I'm 80Kg (on a good day) - wheels will be used for weekend rides and a spot of commuting

Use alpine III or saim force spokes and you have a winner.

SL or cl 25? Both are at good price, will be commuting. Thinking at the price I might get another cross wheelsies built as well.

I've got a wheel set that I want to sell, should I sell the rims (R460, de-stickered) separately from the hubs (Phil Wood f/f 28h track) or leave them intact?
-
• #6437
List them as wheels but make it clear that you'll split them if necessary.

• #6438
Thanks _tester, might be awkward if on ebay though.

May be interested....How much you looking at and does the front have a brake track?

Shipping hubs, especially if you get a foreign buyer, will be much cheaper than shipping wheels, so you can at least mention that you're willing to take them apart for that reason if somebody is only interested in the hubs.

I'm thinking you've missed the last 10 years of wheel talk. Kinlin XR31T will make a nicer wheel in every way.

I wouldn't do deep rims with 32 spokes, but if you like why not.
If you want to save some money CNC-Bikes HP-600 has the same dimensions but is cheaper. -

Silver one is only 29€

• #6445
Both have MSWs, yes - not decided on price yet.
Shipping is the thing, as tester is reiterating.
I'm in Canada. -

SL42 and HP-600 are both very narrow, quite heavy and not really aero especially not when built with 32 spokes. Only advantage is that you could build them into some bombproof wheels.
Do you have a rear wheel already? What is it? -
• #6448
Phil wood high flange on an open pro. 36 spoke 3x heavy as. Only reason for wanting a deep rim on the front is aesthetics

That's good enough reason :)
Silver or black? -

Silver spokes, black rim
Disagreeing with him is futile.
