The difficulty I now face is to withstand the gnawing hunger pangs and to refuse to replace the calories burned. I then need to diet until such time as I reach the weight that I should have been at when I started the ride.
Why refuse to replace? I thought that if you don't eat enough, you just recover more slowly? (Experts please.) Plus a regular ride every week so these aren't a flash in the pan?
Thank you everyone on here who through your encouragement and support - sometimes very tangible - got me through this and allowed me to achieve something I probably should never even have thought of doing.
