Its been done the other way around. @svendhΓΆek might be able to shed some light:

Well there's no rush. You could get it up and running with the 10 speed and cable discs, then upgrade to 11 speed when you spot bits going for cheap.
-
• #29
Yeah, this is true. Mechanical is the obvious answer, I'm just pretending I can achieve hydraulics on a budget.
I'll probably try the mechanical and wonder what I was worried about.

Trp hyrd and staying mechanical .
When does the frame arrive is it a small and dibs when you have finished the buildπ -
• #31
I use spyres on my Equilibrium, they stop me on a sixpence, have great modulation, only ever played with hydros in the shop, yep they feel better, but to lose a 600 saving on a ti frameset, build up with what you have/within budget and upgrade as finances allow.
-
• #32
Yeah, could well be the case. I reckon shift everything you can over to it and stay strictly mechanical for now. I would save the extra you'd spend on hyrd and put that towards upgrading to 11speed hydro at a later date. Just my opinion :)

Frame is here.
Much excitement, however only has one set of cable guides, for rear mech. So looks like the groupset has been decided for me!

No internal routing?
-

Nope, should have taken the picture after I unwrapped really. Definitely one set of guides for rear mech, but no others.
It makes perfect sense rally, all the completes are 1x setups. I just presumed it would have guides for the front mech still. I'm sure I could hack something, but as I already have a 1x Franken-groupset I might as well go for it I figure

If you really wanted front derailleur.

I don't want one that much, haha

Don't blame you. Get a good gear range with the right cassette and chainring. 40 x 11-32 covered most of what I rode.
-
• #41
You wanna sell your hylex? Dibs if so
-
• #42
Hmm, and only one set of holes for cables? And no way to attach a cable guide at the bottom bracket?
Well, if you've got the franken-bits, why not use 'em?
-
• #43
There is a cable guide under the bb, but as @TurtleRecall said, I've got the bits, so shall be using them I think.
-
• #44
Considering, either sell Hylex and buy Sram cx1 oooor back to square one with the DI2 hack on the Hylex hoods.
Decisions decisions

Or SRAM eTap π€

Let's not get ahead ourselves now. For the moment it's going to be Hylex and 10 speed bar-end shifting, doesn't scream big spender does it?

Poor quality phone pic...But finally got round to installing headset/cutting steerer so I could mock it up for the first time.

Never got round to full build pics, here it is in off-road mode.
Also does on-road mode very well too - rode LBL earlier this year, was super comfy for all 273km and gearing was perfect. 46t up front, 11-42 in the back - appreciated that 42t halfway up La Redoute.
