2018 CAAD12 Disc finally have flat mount on the fork.

Source? Have they changed the frame at all?

It appears the Ultegra and up version get flat mount/thru-axle, but 105 version stays post-mount/quick release.

We sell it at work, frames remain same, just higher end CAAD12 now got flat mount and thru axles finally.
Black paint is nice too.

That's a bit shady really. I wonder if they've improved tyre clearance on those frames.

Anybody interested in some rigid 29er Cannondale forks? Aluminium, disk brake only, 1.5 steerer but come with the correct headset to fit a headshok frame. 50 quid posted. PM me!

You can do it with a normal crank puller if you have a suitably-sized length of rigid material to push down the middle of the spindle for the crank puller to press against. I've got a bit of 1/2" mild steel I use. Still relatively easily lost. I think I've turned the last one into some components for tools for making bits of my frame jig.

The new spindle arrived Friday so I got impatient and did this.
Used an appropriately-sized socket backwards to get as much contact possible with the end of the opposing crank bolt, then used my 3/8ths extension as the suitably-sized length.
Installed both arms on the new spindle to measure up for spacers and clearance, then realised I'd need a longer suitably-sized length to get them back off... 160mm spindle.

Amazing news, that black paint Caad 12 is seriously tempting me. Unless I'm mistaken the Dura Ace Caad 12 looks like it's still QR

Actually it's thru axles, just go to the next photos.

Right you are... I had been holding out for a caad with thru axles so think the black ultegra model might be the one to tempt me. Can't get over the new Caad forks though, they look so weedy!

New alloy synapse disc sounds like a great commuter/winter bike. Room for 32s with guards. Waiting to see if it has thru axles front and rear and the weight. Hoping it's around 8.5kg with 105.

No idea.
I'd suggest no, unless someone on the internet categorically says 'yes, this tool does the job'.
A quick duck duck didn't bring that up for me.

fuck you cannondale!!
I don't understand this irritation at having to spend a few £ on the right tool to do the job - it's a modern crankset designed around their frame, not some generic square taper. It's something you kinda buy in to when you buy a 'dale bike.
If you take it to a dealer they can also do the work for you, and probably for beers, if you just need the lockring torque checking.

unfortunately the 2 cannondale dealers in bristol are extremely expensive, it would be cheaper for me to buy the tools than to give it to them. have ordered the tools now, but thankfully @mrJL lives just up the road from me and is lending me some tools so I can hopefully ride this bank holiday weekend :-)

yes I am aware that this is what you get for buying into cannondale's technologies... should have read into it more!
@Emyr if it's any consolation you don't want to know what I paid for this 'Dale tool for removing / installing Lefty steerers :/
