Using "wide" and other words is a bit confusing as you can use it to describe the beam shape and intensity...
Road-specific lights generally have long and low beam pattern, whereas off-road tend to project a fuller (round) shape (good for spotting branches etc.). I'd probably associate "width" with how focused the beam is, regardless of shape.
