what is the situtation on compatibility of bb cups with different ball bearings sizes? Interchangeable or no-go?
No go. If your balls are too big, you get a nasty two-point contact in which one or both points must be sliding rather than rolling. If your balls are too small, your contact pressure goes through the roof and you start carving grooves in the races.
Can anyone tell me for what size of ball bearings this campa spindle was designed? From my research I think it's a c-record spindle: shield logo, 70-sp engraving, 111mm width, 53/54mm between bearing race shoulders. Any idea whether it's made for 1/4, 7/32 or 3/16 ball bearings?
p.s. 3/16 according to velobase, can anybody confirm this?
