Does anyone have an enigma escape? They look pretty perfect
-
• #1105
I was looking at their Ecroix, which the Escape replaces - the Escape does look nice. Shame there aren't any reviews yet.

Yes I am waiting for some reviews too. And the weight for the frameset. Actually it's nearly perfect, I'd prefer internal routing but could live without it.

slow on the uptake here...now that fat bikes have cx framesets, who else is making frames to fit 'plus' tyres?
my 32mm knobblies seem well skinny! -

there are a few you can check out:

https://www.curvecycling.com.au/collections/frames/products/curve-gmx-grovel-monster-crosswhile they're not all true plus bikes, surely they can squeeze bigger rubber in with a change to 650b

Mason Bogie Ti can fit 2.1's on a 650b

• #1112
Wolverine does 2.1 on 29er rims.

What bars with internal cable routing work well with hydraulic cables?
-

Has anyone got opinions on the Charge plug Grinduro? Seems pretty cheap (£510) It'll see use as winter work hack. I dont have any experience with discs. How shit are alloy forks?

Those brakes are great, alu forks can be a bit rigid/harsh but bigger tyres should take the edge off and you could always upgrade to carbons or steel in the future.

There's one on Gumtree for £450. BNIB. I don't know what size you need - it's 54cm

it would probably be easier to just buy a whole new set of brakes (calipers and leaver) and then keep/flog the drop bar set up
MTB discs have been around so long now you could pick up a set of SLXs or something for not a lot of cash
-
• #1119
That's great for the money. I've used a rigid alu fork off road, maybe it's a bit harsher but at the end of the day it's still just a rigid fork.

• #1120
Easy, just make sure you get "flat bar" levers rather than MTB V Brake levers, else the cable pull is off and your brakes won't work very well.
-
• #1121
Those are hydraulic brakes
-
• #1122
Not true, the setup above is TRP hydraulic. You'll need to change both caliper and lever. They'll be easy to sell though

Thanks so much guys for all the wise words. I think it could be a go. Can I live with that paint though? maybe its an anti-theft feature.

:-D
Feel free to ignore my advice OP.
A set of Shimano Deores will be just the ticket.

Quick question... would a Shimano cassette work with a SRAM rear mech and crank?
Yeah somehow it seems they made weird choices for that bike
