I've been using the bar end junction box for the last 6/12 months with various bars - I bought one when it was very first released after sticking my name on the waiting list for a while.
From an initial check it looks like the bars will take hydro and Di2/cable shift - will confirm with some hydro cable.
Stem is merely an update over the puzzle clamp variety which I never really liked (LOVED the 1st get 4bolt 10deg Pro Vibe stem but they're very hard to find in 100/110 variety) and rather unfunctional to the internal Di2 routing cause unless you have a frame which manages Di2 cable via the head tube. It actually seems far too over complicated and a little over priced - a resort back to the traditional 4 bolt design that team sky still use on their pro bikes would be welcomed.
Will fully update once I've tried a hydro hose and fully routed my cables, but it finally looks promising. I still don't understand why it takes £270 and Carbon bars to do it though. Why no alu? 💸💸💸

what is their reach and drop?
sorry for barrage of questions
-
• #2404
i agree i'd prefer an aluminium version assuming they'd be significantly cheaper if they existed

Nah it's cool, they're in very short supply and it seems sigma are the only people with 42cms left worldwide almost:
Reach = approx 80mm
Drop = approx 130mm

Their alu bars are amazing aswell
-
• #2408
but do they have the internal routing?
how have you been doing the cabling with the bar end charger with your other bars?
-
• #2409
No, the alu bars don't have proper internal routing. This is the only pair of bars in the pro range "designed for Di2 internal routing" other than the Aero versions of the Vibe, that ACTUALLY internally route both brake and Di2 so you can bar end junction and do away with the under-stem-sling.
I've been using 3T Tornova LTD, which lasted 2 rides as they're made of cheese and Deda SuperZero Alloy, which have actually been fucking amazing, albeit I hate their shape. Otherwise, apart from other 3T variants (all made of the same cheese) and a few outrageously priced super brands (Schmolke, ENVE, etc - albeit all Aero variants with stupidly large flat tops) I haven't found a single normally shaped compact drop handlebar with FULL internal routing other than the Pro Vibe Carbon Monococque.
And I've been looking for almost a year.

If you're after the same holy grail and have £270 spare I'd order a pair from sigma to check them out (before they disappear into "unknown delivery date" territory again, or pop over to me this week/end and get a feel for them and then order a pair.

So tempting
Isen is haemorrhaging cash right now. Will they be good for a gravelly biek?
-
• #2413
I honestly don't know yet.
They'll be put on my bike by this weekend and then taken out to Switzerland/Germany/France for a serious seeing to for a few weeks shortly after, so if you can hold out till beginning September I can give you a full road test breakdown.

(I ALWAYS end up on gravel en der Schweiz)

• #2415
What bike are they going on?

2017 Felt FR FRD team edition...

Why not drill a set of alu bars though. I mean, it's alu, what's the worst that's gonna happen?
-
• #2418
that's what I thought, she has been going strong on gravel roads for 2,5 years.

• #2419
I'm jealous of your bedding in/test ride. But then again, if this is how you keep snapping your handlebars I will stick to British roads for now.
PS Carbon is Stronger than Aluminium especially aluminium with holes cut into it.

Never actually snapped a pair to date - the clamping area of the 3T bars is the cheesy part where even clamping at 3NM crushes them!

Is your torque wrench broken and proving to be costly? :)
-
• #2422
Haha, maybe!

Ebay vendor mybicycleparts has lots of the Pro Vibe bars and stems.
No relation to me. I use the older style carbon bar with no problem.

I thought Shimano MTB cassettes won't work with 11spd road freehub bodies? Is there a 36t Shimano cassette that will work on road freehub? 11spd
-
• #2425
I'm thinking of getting the Wolftooth roadlink and want to try and keep Shimano cassette and my short cage di2 RD. I have DT Swiss rear hub that didn't fit 11spd MTB cassette for some reason. I think the MTB cassette in 11spd is skinnier or wider?
Do you have to use their stem?
Are you going for the bar end charger port?
Will they take hydro brake hoses?
