Nice! That THM chainset is a costly item
-
• #8628
yes...but so worth it. I bought it months ago for another project and moved it over to the supersix. I do wish I bought compact though....I would have preferred a compact gearing

Gotta admit that tape looks great on this

PF bottom bracket?
-
• #8631
The 2017 frameset has a PF30A indeed...but the only bottom bracket I found that could accommodate the THM was from C-bear ceramic bearing (which is a massive upgrade anyway!)....it 'converts' it to outside cups see pic attached. C-bear bearing are amazing product and quality well worth the upgrade!

It's Tuscany, Italy. Close to Castelnuovo di Garfagnana.

@Aldersbrook AFAIK THM does have a BB that does the job. But that third-party item looks good!
-

I was told by a couple of people that THM does not have a solution for PF30A. I contacted them twice and never got an answer. But I am happy with c-bear. Most likely better or as good but defo cheaper!

Thanks. It's looks great. A rental place or a private house?

Scumbag THM selling €1k crankset, doesn't bother to answer customer's emails
-
• #8638
Rental from HomeAway as far as I remember.

Yeah a bit disappointing by that but I did not insist too much because C-Bear had a solution for me and it was cheaper than whatever THM would have come up with. To be honest, they don't seem to be a big company and probably swamped...not an excuse I know but their product are so good and bulletproof (as far as I know) that you probably rarely need to contact them anyway!

You have to dig a bit... https://www.thm.bike/en/accessories/pressfit-30-bearings-road-35.html

Yeah I obviously saw that but the supersix is PF30A with a 5mm asymmetry....
While the below is specifically built for cannondale PF30A, no spacers needed and has ceramic bearing for the same price...no brainer really.https://www.c-bear.com/en/products/pf30a-cannondale-super-six-evo-slice-rotor-30mm
Remind you, I am not a mechanic nor a BB/chainline specialist so I went for whatever was giving me guaranteed compatibility. C-bear did just that...while I am still waiting for THM to confirm!

Looking at purchasing a caad10 but it has this dent on the top tube. What are peoples thoughts? Top tube compromised or should it be ok?

Thin hydroformed aluminum with a dent like that? RUN
-
• #8646
Hah yea that's fucked
-
• #8647
It also looks like its pinched more than dented, which I would think would make an even easier failure line rather than a normal dent. Deffo avoid

Thanks guys, the fast winter bike search continues.

Yes, can understand your point of view entirely, and disappointing to have had no answer. I recall the following on the spec of the Clavicula (because it came across my desk):
"Mounting—fits any frame with standard 68 mm BSA shell. Available for BB30, BB30A, Pressfit30, Shimano Pressfit, Italian threading, BB386 EVO, BBright™-Pressfit" -

Also didn't realize that the "new" SuperSix Evo has asymmetric bb. Mine has standard PF30.
