  • Thanks, mine takes probably less than 1 minute before around 220ml of water for a single cup has gone. (I bought them as they were cheap, but false economy it seems).

  • Also Otter Valley Ice cream up the a303 is worth a visit. Its a seriously divisive subject as to which is better. Sadly its also somewhat difficult to cycle to- being in the middle of the A303.
The milk is from the farm which abuts the ice cream shop and its a mother/daughter business from the same farm...
My apologies for not being more sociable and we could have met for a ride or a run!

  • Thanks! Another for next year maybe as we head home tomorrow. No worries about ride/run it's tricky squeezing those activities in on a family holiday so tend to be runs as opportunity arises... hard to plan meetups around all that too!

  • M5 Gloucester Services has this by Brew Lab, a Has Bean El Salvador cold brew...

  • Just bought some 'continental roast' beans that smelled like charcoal rather than coffee from the grinder, and taste like a literal ashtray as espresso. Is there a practical use for burnt to shit beans before they go in the bin?

  • keep them to flush out your grinder after you put cleaning granules through it

  • Speaking of charcoal andnot being above an instagram fad, I had a play with goth lattes today. Fun, and taste ok.

  • What is it @StevePeel ?!

  • ^ +1, looks a bit wtf!?

  • Its activated charcoal stirred into espresso then made into a latte. I think its a superfood fad thing - activated charcoal has some health benefits I think. It tastes ok, the charcoal is surprisingly neutral tasting. Just Instagram hype really. They'll be good at halloween

  • Went away to Wales for the weekend for a trackday and drive in the Brecon Beacons, which ended at a charming café called Honey's Café at the NE point of the Beacons. Expecting a greasy spoon, I was so happy to find decent coffee available. They serve coffee from Coaltown Roastery and it's made well. So if you're ever out exploring in that part of the world, I recommend it!

  • That also suck out any medication you're taking. More harm than good unless you've ingested poison.

  • Awesome - there at the end of the month for a week or so. Will make a trip.

  • GF bought me some 'no. 1' from Back Yard Coffee roasters back from a trip to eastbourne the other weekend, sad to say I'm not a fan. tried about 5 times and just too dark roasted for my delicate third wave medium roast palate, similar to what I imagine a charcoal latte would taste like.

Honestly, it's better than the website and menu suggests.

Aside from the coffee I recommend the home made welshcakes and the home cured ham.

  • They had me at the clipart sombrero.

  • It sure fucks with the water in the glasswasher.

They'll not be going on the menu.

  • A heart/love thing won't work with Goth Lattes. You need a skull or a tiny foam picture of Ian Astbury.

  • Who can repair my Gaggia Classic?

Plugged in, plug fuse is fine, turn the switch to 'on' but the lights are out and nobody is home...

  • Tempted to get a Handpresso unless anyone has any horror stories?

  • A handpresso stole my wife. :(

This Anza Espresso looks great but I am unsure of performance.

The 599$ deal is gone (Circa £500 with postage) which seemed to be decent but with machines with an E61 group available from circa £750 new, I don't want to throw money at something that just looks good.

Could someone shed so light on it? Master Coffe Master @StevePeel ?

  • Tried using contact cleaner on the switch contacts?
