Now that makes sense.

It would probably also be better if you removed it, set it on fire, and replaced it with one that wasn't yellow.
-
• #115931
The fire might serve to strip the yellow off it

Quick build. Also what brake cables are they? Did you need new inners with the rebuild?
-
• #115936
Alligator link. Not my choice but they came with the brakes and they're pretty handy since you can add links back in
New inners though yeah -

I'm tempted to buy a Ridley X-night frame, seems to be in decent state but without fork. Since I'm new to this disc brake / tapered steerer lark I'm not too sure what to expect.
What are the odds of finding a fork for reasonably cheap? How hard is it to come by the correct set of brakes and corresponding wheels? And is €300 a reasonable price for such a frame?

Hi Tijmen,
Finding a fork shouldn't be to difficult, any 1 1/8 to 1 1/2 should fit with a is42/is52 headset. Most disc brakes will fit, as long as they are not "flat mount". Same goes for the wheels, any disc wheel should fit as long as it is QR.
I find €300 a bit steep though

Yeah 300 seems a bit much once you've factored in forks. You could get a new Planet X rtd80 for that sort of money

Let me know how much you want for it and all you need to do then is post!

I like that very much. It's the colour of old garden sheds and pre-1970s lawnmowers

Thanks. I'm not so sure. It's Vauxhall Pine Green haha. Same colour as an Opel Mantra I believe

I've got a fork that might just be right for you:
Boardman CX fork -

As good as done. The rack on the CycleTech needs some bodging or removal...

Ah right, thanks for the info! Sounds like I should be able to figure it out then.

Oh, quite a couple of cyclocross frames in that pricerange as well. I'll see if I can talk him down, otherwise I won't bother. Thanks!

• #115948
Ooh, I like the silver! If I get the frame I'll buy them, if you don't mind shipping to the Netherlands, that is.

Been looking out for a classic Dawes Galaxy to replace my GT Force as I want to run bigger tyres and guard, I saw this randomly this morning on eBay and couldn't resist. Plan is just to move build over from the GT, should be perfect.

The chain would engage with more teeth if it was shorter.
