  • Will PM you VIN, though I had it to hand but will have to look. No, it doesn't match, it was originally nappa black. But it is an excellent job and all other spec is as original. It was Cat D for a low speed shunt about 5 years ago. Front and rear bumper, bonnet and exhaust were replaced, I saw pics of before and after when I bought it and had it checked out for alignment. You'd never ever know unless told.. it drives spot on and has a traceable full service history.

So, not one for originality freaks, but then 'pukka' sub 70k manual hard tops seem to fetch £15K+ nowadays.

  • That interior is lush @Olly398 I love a black car with white/ivory interior.

  • You seem to have forgotten to start with 'Here we have...'

  • How many do you reckon they sell? 1 or 2 a year? Maybe 5. I doubt they're making more than £10-20k a car at that so it ain't much of a business on its own.

I suspect we'll see them all disappear over the next few years when folk come to sell them second hand and realise that without a brand like Singer behind them they won't be getting even half their dolla back.

  • Well I decided to just quit complaining and fit it, needs obnoxious bumper sticker to complete the look. Blowing a bit so I'm gonna take it off again tomorrow ma dinvestigate the flange.

  • but who's going to give £100k, or even £75k for an MGB?

Is that not the going rate? I need an urgent word with @BRM.

  • This will buff out, right?

  • Ouch. Are you OK?

  • That actually looks quite cool. Like a side scoop on a supercar. Leave it like that.

  • GF was driving. No major injuries thankfully. I wasn't there.... T-Boned by a van. Van driver admitted fault at the scene I'm told, and there was a whitness who was driving behind my GF.

Recovery driver said he didn't think they'd bother with a repair.

  • whitness

    Racist

  • V6!

  • How many do you reckon they sell? 1 or 2 a year?

One or two a year tops. They're really just demonstrators with poncey names, I suspect.

  • Question on courtesy cars...

My 18 year old brother recently bought a newish corsa, which annoyingly has had to go back into the workshop and have a new wiring loom fitted as his is knackered somehow.

They are offering him a courtesy car which he needs for work, however the excess is £3k, which is rightly scaring him, has anyone ever heard of an insurance policy against this excess like you get with a hire car?

  • A cursory Google yielded this:

    http://www.moneymaxim.co.uk/garage-loan-car-excess-insurance

    I'm sure there are others.

  • Had it about 3 months so suspect he is out of the ability to send it back

  • Shit didn't realise you were volvo. I have a spare 120 and 130a alternator for these sitting in my man pile. Only live in Glasgow, sorry I didn't notice what was going on there :/

Always thought this era v70 Rode very heavy (unless in poverty spec 15" and soft roader height suspensension). Mine sits on fwd r suspension and tbh, compared to anything modern of same size rides like a broken bag of rocks (despite everything being perfect suspension wise). Surprised two different BMW who were out on their respective test drives this morning, dog was in the boot pulling faces at them through the clay cloud that engulfed them

  • Decided I do wanna give decat a go because you're only young and stupid once...

Should I expect to need a remap? The debate pipe has all the relevant sensors so it shouldn't mess with the mixture right?

  • Does it have pre and post cat lambda sensors? If so you will need some ECU fiddling to remove the CEL. Pre-cat only and you are fine.

  • Looks a bit small to me. If you want to go artic, have you considered a Steiger Panther?

The farmer behind my house had one in the 80s when I was a kid. Amazing tractors.

  • Saw this on the way home from work
