  • Been advised to post in here.
I don't know where to buy a headset that fits, I'm pretty sure I can find bearings but I need the full headset with all races etc.
The OD of the headtube is 42mm and the ID is 38. I don't have calipers but the 1.1/8" Orbit FSA doesn't fit and I have measured it another way. There's no taper.
Sorry if this question is a bit benign and the pics don't help.
    Cheers.

  • 38mm bearings implies 1" steerer. A BMX shop is probably your best bet, because 1" integrated never really took off on road bikes, but beware of crown race sizing, 1" BMX tends to be 27.0 while most road bikes are 26.4, so you may have to create a Frankenstein headset using a suitable crown race from an EC30 road headset. If you search for IS38 headsets you should find something, if you have plenty of money the Cane Creek 40 comes in a IS38 version, it's a bit posh for something that ratty but it's a good headset.

  • That looks like a internal (IS) headset to me, have a look at http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/headset-standards#article-section-5
That has all the info on every headset standard
