Bull and Last, Highgate Road.

Excellent pizza at Alparco on Highgate West Hill, or the Carob Tree opposite does good Greek food

Oh my god! That's a blast from the past. That used to be a really grotty music venue. Several friends' bands played there in the mid 90s.

You're thinking of Bull and Gate, next to the Kentish Town Forum (formerly the Town and Country Club)
