At nearly £4 for 10g, he has found the the nice-but-pricey option.
Unicorn Tears aren't safe with carbon: the Rainbow Sparkles cause delamination.

do passports all have 9 digits as per a UK passport or do the number of digits vary from country to country?
-
• #85055
Excellent. Ta.

Works fine for me for exactly the same thing, alu and carbon.

Cheers.
A quick look down the back of the fridge does show a pipe leading down and a pan at the bottom which I'll look into properly when I get home.Cleaning out the hole at the back seems to have got rid of the worst of the smell though.

Not an exact answer but this may be helpful/interesting.

It varies. Some are just numeric, some have an alphanumeric mix, some change depending on the age of the document.
-
• #85060
cool - but do the number of digits / characters vary as well? i suspect they do.
-
• #85061
Yes they do vary. If there's anything that over 10 years working in immigration taught me, it's that no process based on "standards" ever survives contact with the real world.

Say you had monday-wednesday off this month and wanted:
- Two nights in a B&B somewhere quiet with pubs
- Train there from london with bike (or within 10-15miles ride to said village from a station)
- Some nice rides in lanes and scenery from said place for 3 days (40-60miles a day)
where would you go?

Yes. My Canadian passport is 2 letters followed by 6 digits.

Do people lube/grease their gear/brake cables prior to installation? I know some come pre-coated but I'm trying to see what I can do to get better performance from more budget cables. Had seen it mentioned a few places but can't find a really concise explanation!

Varies from country to country
IIRC from when I worked for NZ immigration

New Forest? Could head to Isle of Wight for a day too.

You can buy more expensive cables. It's cheaper than trying to bring cheap ones up to the same standard, thanks to the wonder of division of labour

I'd second the IoW; good pubs, there's a signed bike route around the circumference of the island (approx. 100km) and it seems like every road has been resurfaced recently.

I'd happily recommend Shropshire. Train to Shrewsbury, sure there are plenty of B+Bs you could find. We used Clun YHA halfway round. Write up here:

I've probably got the Bikehike route stored as a gpx file somewhere if you're interested. -
• #85070
Maybe somewhere in the New Forest?
Edit - shit, whole new page I missed. Snap @umop3pisdn.
Don't go the Isle of Wight.

thanks all, good shouts

Who do you work for - I used to work for the NZ immigration
One of my favourite moments was when it got rebranded as NZIS and we were given black shirts to wear to an immigration expo. My boss was too stupid to understand why I thought this might show questionable judgement.

• #85073
well that's good enough for me. thanks for the tipz.

new forest is lovely, probably moreso in the autumn. we stayed here and whilst it's a bit old fashioned, the couple that run it are proper lovely and won't murder you and wear your skin like a suit.

Pfffft such high standards
Carbon post in a carbon frame. Should I use carbon paste?
