  • Anyone have a -
Nagasawa, 3Rensho,Cherubim, Kalavinka, Samson in 54-55cm for sale ?

Please give me a shout if you do.

  • I thought the whole point of njs was unifying standard. . Had no idea carbon was allowed at all.
This is much more aero compared to the usual lugged steel frame.
But must be made in Japan that about the only thing they don't flex on.

  • Does that mean campag njs stuff was made in Japan?

  • I was made for the women's keirin which seems to have different rules. Njs export also have a few ahead stems which are njs stamped which is pretty cool

  • All the women race on basically the same equipment, they're just allowed carbon frame and aero wheels.

  • Don't think it had to made in Japan, just that they weren't so keen on allowing the importing of stuff as the whole point of it was to boost the Japanese economy after WWII.

^ & ^^ this. Just look at the tasteful bikes.

  • When I picked it up last week it had mid-2000 spec fixie-skidder Nitto risers that were way too narrow.

lines starting with a 'greater than' denote quoted text

Gorgeous bike, but it's interesting how the pendulum has now swung too far in the other direction regarding bars. Those risers look completely ridiculous on that bike.

  • So are those NJS HED3s?

  • I don't know. The regulations could be such that only the frame and other bits need to be NJS certified. I can't imagine they are though; NJS Hed 3s would have definitely made a notable commotion in the hipster circuits.

  • Anybody able to fit 28's in their njs forks (or frames, tho that's probably easier)? I'm spoiled by cushy tires but I'm looking at njs once I sell my current townie.

  • I just about got a 28 in the back of my Nagasawa. Wheel can't sit fully in though because of the brake bridge. Forks aren't njs so can't comment on the front, I doubt you'll get a 28 in there though...

  • I doubt it. The njs standard was in a form of protectionism for the Japanese bike industry.
I'm sure njs committee were willing to bend the rules and allow others campag/cinelli in after a handsome payout.
It is said that many manufacturers would not have survived with out it.
For example kashimax pretty much have the monopoly on saddles and they are not that great.

  • Yeah I was fairly sure that campy njs stuff wasn't made in Japan I was just kinda calling the comment out lol

  • This slipped my mind: have you heard anything back?

  • Anyone have, and is willing to part with, a 120mm+ Nitto Jaguar stem?

  • these bars where made to wheelie

  • That stem is rad...

  • Re 145mm tioga tbone love

  • Thanks. I know that those bars are absolutely not in keeping with the rest of the bike. They are somewhat of a placeholder. The uncut nittos were still so narrow that it was twitchy and hard to crank from the lights. I'll be finding something more fitting but I will say it's incredibly comfortable with them that wide. I kind of feel like, as this bike will never go near a velodrome (or be used how it was intended) I may as well build it in a way that means it's nice to ride.

  • yeah, that stem is too hot. Let me know if its too long ;)

  • saturday morning spin on this fun and ugly set up

  • same old shitframe, always new looks!

  • <3 <3

  • So good.. flat bar really works on this one

  • Samson illusion
