I cannot wait for cars to be self-driving and electric.

They still haven't solved self-drive car / cyclist interaction scenario IIRC

I'm sure someone will get there. Also, the standards autonomous drivers are being held to are a lot higher than human drivers. I wouldn't be surprised if cyclist interaction was already better than average human cyclist interaction!

One would hope, I read this article a while ago and it seemed that AV's struggled to discern cyclists properly, maybe it's moved on since then but!
