I'm definitely with you on that one. I understand driving cars fast being fun, but I'm looking forward to it being confined to private tracks.
It seems crazy to me that cars are sold that are basically designed to drive in a way that is illegal on roads. Especially when we're basically really bad at piloting these things. I cannot wait for cars to be self-driving and electric.
I suppose my pessimism is more based on this government and their willingness to do anything that reflects well on them, as long as it doesn't involve actually doing anything.
I'm sure someone will get there. Also, the standards autonomous drivers are being held to are a lot higher than human drivers. I wouldn't be surprised if cyclist interaction was already better than average human cyclist interaction!
