When you pull over a delivery driver in a HGV, you don't expect to
find over £8000 in cash hidden in the cab (each of those wraps is
£1000). The cash was his savings from his salary as a delivery driver
but it was a job he was doing unlawfully as he had been disqualified from driving. Turns out the driver had managed to get hold of two
driving licences, in two different names. He'd been convicted of drink
driving in one name, while getting his job as a driver using the other
name. Once we unpicked that little conundrum, and he'd been convicted,
the court decided that the money was proceeds of a crime (i.e. driving
while disqualified) and so he had to relinquish the dosh...
