I guess SR might have been mechanically nicer
To be honest, the 1980s SR rear derailleur wasn't even better made than the RD-1050.

I can't believe 105 was way better than the top of the line Super Record.
The Golden Arrow 105 was better than Super Record, and 1050 was better again. By the mid 80s, Campag had fallen far behind the Japanese, because the basic designs hadn't changed in at least 20 years.

Best value (cheap) tri shorts please?
Thin pad or even unpadded is fine. I don't want to wear out my Tri suit and need a few changes. Planning to cycle to the beach...

The model name should be embossed on one of the arms of the frame. Can you get a better pic to see the shape of the frame?

I think so. It's an open mould Chinese carbon cx frame, a FR602.

Need an adjustable spanner that will do at least 36mm - anything better than a Park PAW12 for £25ish?
-
• #84936
for £25ish?
For £15-ish you can have a Draper 88604, it even has a blue handle so people will think you spunked on a Park as long as they can't see the name plate :)

I have one of those. Also has a useful hammer/mallet function.

How much torque are you wanting to put through it?
If it's nothing major then you can get away with a wide jaw, short handle type. Model 4003WT will accommodate up to 38mm: http://www.teng.co.uk/4002wt-4003wt-teng-tools-adjustable-wrench-15-deg-phosphate-finish.html
If you're needing to put more torque through it then you're probably gonna have to shell out a little bit more for something with a 12" handle like the 4005IQ: http://www.teng.co.uk/4002iq-4006iq-teng-tools-adjustable-wrench-phosphate-finish.html
Should point out I'm not sponsored by Teng but I've always got on well with them. Other brands are available, etc.

Any suggestions for a cheap, thin walled 24mm socket? Am somewhat bored of removing/attaching my brompton pedal with mole grips. I keep getting foreign suggestions when I google it. Cheers

According to a guy on another forum that frame comes with this headset:
IS42/28.6 | IS52/40
Upper bearing - IS42/28.6 | (OD:41.8 x ID:30.1 x H:8 x A:45°)
Lower bearing - IS52/40 | (OD:51.8 x ID:40 x H:8 x A:45°)So these two should do the job.

Where can I get a flat-ish bearing top cover for a 1.5" headtube with a 1 1/8th streerer? @mdcc_tester are you still making?

Question -
I sent some folks a contract by email asking them to sign it. They've returned a copy that they say they have signed, but there are no signatures on it, in the traditional sense.
They've used a PDF feature to simply write their names in plain text where the signatures should be.
Is the document still 'signed' and 'binding'?
-
• #84947
Yes - see Golden Ocean Group Ltd v Salgaocar Mining Industries PVT Ltd [2012] EWCA Civ 265 in which a name at the end of an email was held to constitute a signature for the purposes of the Statute of Frauds 1677. In any event, unless it's a guarantee or a contract for the sale of land, or another type of contract where the law requires specific formalities before a contract can arise, there's no requirement for a signature in order to create a legally-binding contract. The fact that they've returned it and said they've signed it shows that they've agreed to its terms.

Cheers, looks like a reasonable option.
I got a frame media blasted, and bits of grit have gotten into the gas vent holes. Is there anyway to get them out? I'll be preserving the inside of the tubes with linseed oil, so will that just gum them up and stop the noise?
