  • Which will do zilch for climate change, possibly even make it worse, we still have to make the things, and the power cells, and generate electricity. It will only solve some air quality issues, and won't touch water quality. And it won't solve congestion, nor road danger, nor the costs of the infrastructure to use them on and park them. Why can't governments look that far ahead and see that we already invented a bike which solves almost all our urban transport issues. We just don't need moving around in self contained pods.

  • Yep - it's a move that generates positive headlines for the government, to let them off the hook for the tougher decisions .

  • Well ... it also lifts the lid on a lot of policy and regulation which in turn is an opportunity for a shift and potential reform in tertiary issues like industry practice and transport infrastructure.

    I fail to see how this isn't positive.
