Can you help to identify these frames, bikes or parts?

Hi, can anyone identify this frame? I don't think the GB sticker is original, or if it is it must be a very early frame. Seat tube is 26.8. Cheers

If it's stamped ILEA then it's an old Herne Hill Rental bike

Thanks for your reply. I can make out the I and E A and I'm sure the L is there under the paint. I don't suppose you have any idea who made those frames? It's interesting as I used to ride at Herne Hill with British Cycling, though I didn't get the frame from there. I now use this bike for my 52 mile round trip daily commute from Herts into Islington.

This frame is made from Vitus tubing (hence the funny seatpost size) allegedly built by cliff shrubb, but was probably built on his behalf by one of the technicians at Holdsworth.
Most of these frames are badged up as Harry O. This is because Harry Rowland got the contract for renovation in the 80s.

Can anyone confirm what that is? Looks very much like c-record however no markings on the inside of the arm. Also weird lines on the section where the chainring fits. Is it one of the modern record posts ones?

If you Duckle the part number on the sticker (FC01-REPI549), you get this:

Ahh good detective skills. I must say, the finish of them are not as nice as the older c-record versions

3 Carbon Tubes, but the lugs seem different from the Vitus 3 tubes so I am wondering what it might be...

Suggestion was FGFS Leader, looks similar to eightinch but cant find any with the same bridge

My friend brought me this to build up and asked me what it is, my initial thoughts are cheap ebay rubbish but is unusual to have the tapered integrated headset and the rear bridge is cut out. Welding is slightly better than average geometry appears road rather than track. Thick steel frame with beefy tubes and dropouts. Maybe someone will identify it from the rear bridge

Unless it was built in the 70s - 90s I have no idea on frames really

Maybe a long shot, but some help identifying this would be great. Currently masquerading as a Bianchi, but now pretty certain it isn't. Only identifying marks are 'GUNN 005' stamped on the underside of the BB shell.

Any chance anyone has come across one of these before? After removing the spray paint, it had areas of a metallic red and gold powdercoat underneath.

Frame Details:

• Super Vitus 980 tubing
  
• Bottom bracket is stamped RGF (Raccords Gargatte Freres)
  
• Bocama Lugs (BCM Stamp)
  
• English threaded BB
  
• 26.6 seat tube
  
• Appears to have CWI 2008 11 stamped on the fork steerer
  
  

I'm guessing from the tubing that it is most likely French but would greatly appreciate any suggestions regarding the make.

That looks allot like a Gitane super or mexico track

Afaik Gitane track bikes didn't use the triple cutout lugs. SRAtpost diameter on my mexico is 26.4

Fair enough, the Gitane pistas in their old catalogues didn't have these types of lugs but maybe I just missed something.

There is quite a bit of info on Mercian frame numbers available. For this to be a Mercian, with vertical rear drop outs, it would have to be the 5th bike built in 1997, and 131 would be the code indicating who built it. I don't know about the RS, it's not part of the description of the numbering system I've seen (or if 131 is a sensible number for the builder).

I would think the lugs should be distinctive? Also, I think Mercian are helpful with enquiries, have you tried sending them the number?

I'm looking for a 1" integrated headset.
So far I've got Cane Creek and Neco.
Only I can't find cane creek headsets for 1"(38mm) only cane creek bearings. In my case I need the whole thing. Races, top-cap, all that.
I can get a Neco off eBay for £8 so how bad are the neco headsets? Ive only seen them on halfords stuff (x-rated)
Will CC bearings mate with the Neco stuff?
Going on a discontinued TT frame I cannot find any info on.

Clearly showing my ignorance here but I don't care anymore. Had this frame 5 years and done nothing with it cossa headset...

Thank you for the answers everyone. The lug work does look similar to some of the old Gitane frames but I haven't seen one with such a detailed fork crown with the three circles detail. They seem to crop up across a few people like Waterford, Gunnar, Burls and Torelli as a 'Classic Track Fork'.

My advice to you would be to take it to a bike shop and ask them to fit a new headset. It will cost you more than doing it yourself, but sounds like you could use the help.

Don't do this either

Take it to a local bike shop ask them nicely and more than likely they'll be able to help you out. If they can't sort you a headset they will at least be able to tell you what you need.

If you're not feeling this, you might want to put a picture of the headtube/fork in the Any questions answered thread someone may be able to direct you to the correct product this way
