I actually need this one, but thanks for pointing me to SJS!

I gave up after my 3rd longboard front flap snapped off (the first two took part of the guard off too). I ended up buying raw flaps which are lighter and seem less prone to breaking the mudguard. Bonus is they're reflective and longer/wider.

Anyone got spare pdw full metal fenders they want to sell me?
-
• #2856
They do look good. I'll save buying them for when the replacement falls off. The only reason I haven't gone straight to them is because the flap on my Pompino sits lower than the road bike and it's still firmly intact... that might be the exception rather than the rule though.

IIRC the 3rd set of longboards I got had the bottom metal stay thing lower, guess they changed the design to prevent the flap a d guard from falling off, as I read a lot of other things online about the same issue I had.

Potentially. I've just bought the Radial ones a few pages back and have nearly got them set up as I want.
I'll let you know if and when I'm ready to sell the old ones. They're the narrow grey type.

Excellent - they are the ones I'm after! (No rush but I'd like to get hold of some before the dunwich Dynamo if I can!)
Cheers,

Good news and bad. I am happy to sell them on, but I last saw the original rear guard fittings about 2.5 years ago.
I've had it bolted to the brake bridge, so have either hidden or thrown away the metal brake thingy and plastic seat tube clamper. I'll keep looking, or you can have them and try to adapt if your bike ain't got bosses.

ahoy! no problem re: the metal rear guard fitting - It won't work with my rear brake anyway due to aero cable routing... I was going to get an SKS fitting to mount to rear brake bolt behind caliper (I'd had a set of pdw setup before in the same way)
Pretty sure spares can be ordered anyway as I'll need the plastic bit... or maybe just a bit of inner tube and a zip tie!Where are you based and how much would you like?
Cheers,

Should be fine then. I'll send a message.

Potentially the worst ever mudguards on this English:

Mudguard people. Anyone engineered something crafty for the brakebridge-ness folk out there? Ideally I want to run full mudguards but understand this might be to much of a faff. I'll be running a narrower tyre with guards. Summer mode atm

2x P clips (one on each stay) and zip ties?

@DoktorPepe is the man to ask as he had his like this:
-
• #2867
Mine was a V2 and had a bridge.
-
• #2868
Tortec Cromo Tec guards come with a plastic bridge thing that has both the normal vertical bolt mount, and also these little channels that you can thread zip ties to. Might work? I still have these guards kicking about if you want them for a beer. Got a big hole drilled in them for the pomp monostay though.

Cheers @amey @spotter @DoktorPepe. PM'ing you @TomvanHalen

Turns out my Longboard snapped just below the stay mount, I didn't just lose a flap. Anyone got a front Longboard going spare they want to sell?
-
• #2871
Where did you buy it? Chain reaction were very good at sending out 2 replacements when my front one went, just sent them a quick email with a photo of it snapped off and got a whole new set both times.
-
• #2872
You're not alone, that happened to mine too...
-
• #2873
I'll check where I bought them from and give it a try, thanks @TurtleRecall

Happened to mine as well. Replaced the snapped bit with a piece of a bleach bottle.

Bleach bottle ftw.^
Anybody ever had/hybridised stuff to make a really light mudguard? I found some carbon ones that are sub 400g with fixings, but they're astronomically expensive, £120 to be exact.
Was thinking Chromplastic with alloy stays, not sure if it's even possible. Scoblatron mentioned doing this years ago, but didn't show his workings so I always wondered if it was a pipe dream that never happened aka bullshit.
Also: have a rear PDW narrow if anybody wants one, and a front with thru-fork section bit removed (badly).
Ah - thanks anyway, and sorry for your troubles!
