possible slight logistics error. Flight home from Thessaloniki to London (then on to Edinburgh) is on Monday morning at 11. Was planning on getting to Thessaloniki on Sunday after the party on Saturday and then either riding or taking the train over to get my flight, packing bike on sunday then kipping at airport on Saturday.

Apparently bike shops are shut on Sundays which means not really enough time to get to a shop and pack bike down before flight on Monday.

Just pull it down and cover it in cling film. Also, other boxes are around - whitegoods store, etc. Trim cardboard down, wrap, sorted.

Not sure. I tend to fly with my own (proper) bike box these days. I've heard of some airports with cardboard boxes but others I've seen have just done the clingfilm or large plastic bag thing.

Find a friend. Get in touch with a bike shop in Thessaloniki and offer them €20 to leave a box out for you somewhere...?

That's an avenue I'm currently exploring.

I had to do this on the way back from Sardinia last summer. Four or five cardboard boxes from the cafe/gift shop then covered in that cling film stuff.

im just glad i have a ti frame and the only carbon is the fork. I think i'd cry if I had to send a carbon frame like that

then again it is possible that the bag throwers will be a little more delicate cause they can see what they're actually throwing.
