so updates, just secured a 49t 75 chainring, so thinking 49x17?

Depends what size gear you want. Personally I like around 2.7 which would be 49-18.

Will do, had a guy at the lbs do it who's been doing tubs since before clinchers so it's on there pretty good!

Fantastic, thanks very much for all the tips mate, everyone has been super useful on this so far and it's really appreciated!

Ok, so actually I have the options of chainring now to go on the 75s (different prices of course). Either a 48t 75 chainring, a 49t dura ace, or a 50t Silver Zen. I'm kind of leaning towards the zen, but will that be too chunky looking on this frame, or will it work with the disc?
Any suggestions?

get a black chainring. itll look bestest

Big slim chainrings look off imo. I'd go for zen for >50t

Thanks to @haveo and @c4shr I have a drivetrain for the rat now. Went with a sliver 50t zen, but may swap for a black in time. Found a generic seatpost bolt on the dreaded bay for £3 and from the feel of it the seatpost is going to need a wee coke can shim, no idea on the seatpost diameter as it was an old one I inherited, but I'm thinking it's a 26.8. Almost there...

I know what you're thinking, did that Glaswegian just say coke can shim? Fine, I admit it, it's a can of tennents...

Also just picked up this wheelset on here which I reckon I'm going to use on this when it ain't quite disc weather.. dura ace x dt Swiss x mavic open pro. Should sit nicely on it I reckon.

Cheers bud, had it out for it's first ride yesterday and it's rather lovely!

That wheelset arrived this evening and I reckon it suits it pretty well, any thoughts between these and a full black phil wheelset I have on another bike currently?

Looks really nice. Personally, I'd stay away from the full black wheels, too big of a contrast imo.

Looks great with the silver wheels. I think it'd look even better with some bars with a little bit of rise. Any idea what you're doing for bar tape/grips? You could probably get away with more or less any colour with the rest of the build being so neutral.

This is perfect!!!

Thank you very much bud! Appreciate all the positive comments and yeah I'm kind of thinking along the same lines as you with the wheels as well

Yeah I agree, but I just can't deal with risers, it feels way too bmx-y if that makes any sense. These do have a wee bit of rise to them, but I think I'll struggle with anything more. Had some black cinelli cork tape that I just threw on this morning because it was kicking about. It looks pretty good, because of the black saddle but I really hadn't considered colours, any ideas?

Thank you so much bud, really stoked with it. Way more character than any of the alu track bikes I own, been totally converted!
Maybe I was just lucky with my lbs. I bought another one online which was slightly too wide, so it's probably best to measure it beforehand in case another shops offers you a generic one. Not sure how to measure it in practice but you would have to measure the distance between the taper and the chainstay on an 'imaginery' 42mm chainline. If it's longer than the diameter of your chainring you'll be fine.
