It make it easier by taking the KOPS out gently, put it carefully down on the kerbs and smash it to smithereens.

I really don't get this? with a 74º seattube and 16mm of setback I would think you're at about the same position as 72º seattube and a "normal" 25mm setback seatpost with your seat in the middle. Am I missing something?
especially when you consider cleat positions, knee angles, shoe size, position on the seat and so on...

also other factor that some people have a short upper legs which result in the saddle needing to be set further forward.
KOPS is not to be used.

AFAIK rule of thumb is +/- 1deg for every 10mm fore/aft adjustment
