http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dt-swiss-r-23-spline-alloy-clincher-wheelset-shimano-1/
Wide(ish) at 17mm internal. Tubeless compatible and comes with the kit. Service is easy. Light-ish. The supplied QR is great.

Anybody got a better suggestion than a pair of Ultegra 6800's from wiggle for £250? Seems a reasonable deal to me....

Welcome to the wonderful world of Ksyrium and their stupid alu spokes.
I should sell off my handbuilt Bike Whisperer wheels but I like them even though with disc brakes I'll probably never use them again.

Whichever of DT R23, R24 or R32 takes your fancy and you can find in stock in the UK. Merlin have R24s

Hey @Backsplash I have a pair of Shimano RS80s (24mm) carbon laminate wheels tapped for bolt-on that purchased from @mdcc_tester. Yours for £80. I never got around to using them (fixed lyf) so only a bit of use from the previous owner. I'm based off Old Street. I can send through more details about how little use they've had.

Thanks YAL, sounds a great deal but I am running 11 speed so I don't think that would work.

I'm thinking about a pair of these. Any experience / opinions? Are mavic's tyres any good?
Edit, just read back a few pages, don't fancy the black wearing off the rims much.

You don't even have to go that far back to see a clear warning against buying anything with Zicral spokes. If you want a warning against anything with carbon TraComp spokes, just search for exploding RSys.

If you must blow your wad on tarty wheels, at least get the wider (i.e. DT) ones, although it will still be pretty hard to measure any actual performance improvement over R24s and the black brake tracks of the PR1400s will wear off just like any other coating; they're too new to know whether that will be sooner or later than Mavic Exalith, but it will happen.

Which of the following should I choose? Please show your working.
DT460/440/411/511

I'm between 460 and 511 at the moment. 511 are getting a little porky and are double the price. But are deeper so will look fly....It is difficult.
Not sure what the point of the 440/411's are as I've heard only good things about the 460's and these similar in style.

I got a 511db on the front of my thru-axle dyno wheel after crashing the previous rim. It works.

I got Pacenti.

Please tell us what you want them for. Also, this is the wheels thread, you'll probably get more sense out of the wheel building thread if you're trying to choose loose rims (where everybody will tell you to get Kinlin XR31T)

well I'm not going to waste it on something stupid like a house or a pair of trousers

The bike I'm going to leave, for much of the year, in the server room of the engineering teams building in Colorado. It'll be ridden a few times each year, in the Rockies.
I'd like to run tubeless, I'd like the wheels to be reasonably light as I'll be climbing for most of the time, affordability is also a consideration.

R460 is cheap, light and tubeless compatible

All your sealant will be gone by the time you want to ride it. Use tubes.

Are these http://www.zuus.co.uk/new-upgraded-50mm-zuus-carbon-superlight-1549gms-clincher-road-cycling-wheel-set-japanese-toray-carbon-new-straightpull-hubs/ worth the extra £200 over aliexpress/ebay for the warranty? They seem light, so they must be reasonably decent rims.
And yes, I know I don't need 50mm wheels and probably won't feel any benefit, but I like the sound they make and live somewhere very flat. Or just these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Aero-Road-Bike-Wheelset-55mm-Clincher-Tubeless-Ready-Wheelset-/122610384617?hash=item1c8c25fee9
(I want something dispatched from the UK so I can ride them next week)

Anyone use Campy Bora One 50's.
Recommendations ?
-
• #7874
Absolutely no point in getting the clinchers, and tubs only worth it for HHSRB points IMO.

Campy
lol
So I just took my Kyrisium Sl's in to have a slight true up before leaving for the etape on Friday night...and the spokes have seized to the nipples, and the spoke tension is out, so I need new wheels.
Any recommendations that I can buy to pick up or be at home by Thursday pm? Budget <£500, I am 82kgs and a nervous descender so carbon probably out. Is it probably too much of a missions going tubeless in two days, sadly....
Nightmare.
