Yesterday was the first time he really had to work at the Tour. Sky are very good at rotating their domestiques, so they aren't overly reliant on one person.
I meant to add, riding for GC is different than going for stage wins, mentally there is much less pressure, so with Landa he is probably mentally fresher than, say, Quintana.
Landa is the one I feel for this year. They guy is on some awesome form. His final stint yesterday was mind blowing, seeing him grind it out while everyone behind was weaving and bobbing all over the place.
He rode a hard giro, went down hard, got up, still got a stage and was out in crazy hard breakaways most of the third week. Look at the difference between him and Nario. How is he holding this form? He must be a good bet for next year's giro. Just needs to keep it the right side up for three weeks.
