is there not an 'unwritten rule' that you have to take the yellow bar tape off your bike for the warm down if you lost the jersey?

But mainly, it was hugely disrespectful of Bardet to attack while Froome was struggling up the hill.

The other GC contenders are supposed to put their arms around the yellow jersey and waft them over the line if they're not up to it.
