There is a video of that on instagram (from riders perspective), and apparently a Merc in Epping Forest purposefully caused a crash breaking someones collarbone
Edit: video of the kids pushing the bike out into the path of a group of riders

I hope the number plate is readable. Apparently they drove off.
Allegedly after inappropriate comments too. -

Four of us, my third time, the others were virgins :0)
One of our lot wanted to do the whole thing, but as I intended to ride back, I just wanted to join at Dunmow, as it would have meant me riding into London, then virtually passing my house about three hours later....
A surly Krampus, Trek Stache 29+, salsa spearfish, and me on the Sequoia.Lovely ride out, short sleeved all night.
Started to ride home and felt shit almost immediately....oh, oh.
As I was solo home (one camped nearby, two went back to a relative's house), I was determined to push on.....it was so humid! I went through about 8 litres of water, scavenged from church yards mainly, with the addition of the Aldi hydration tablets. Normally, I don't like those with the caffeine added, but that was all I had after buying them by mistake. One upset stomach and massive nausea, made me look like shit and probably smell like the inside of a shit smugglers duffle bag.
I think it was 175 miles though, so that was nice!
Still a great ride, and I actually thought that there were less wankers than I've seen before!

I'm from Essex. It's full of twats. Live in NE London and never ride in Essex now - it's shite.

When you want to save the activity but are terrified the Garmin will crash

How do you scavenge water from a churchyard - are they known for having taps?
Sounds like a night to remember!

Yes! N E Fule no. It's for watering graveside flowers and other gardening duties I guess. Often near the lychgate.

Rode with a friend this time - a very different experience and more in the spirit I guess. Entire ride was in Z2 but the kms just flew by with company and no particular efforts. We got to enjoy dawn across the fields, which was beautiful. The food stand just before Framlingham was epic.
Q: What do you have without meat?
A: Macaroni cheese + vegan pasta with herbs
Jaw drops

Greetings folks,
Loving the pics and match reports.... I was out in Suffolk over the weekend. Weather was lovely and clear with it only clouding over early on Sunday morning...
On my way back to Sudbury Sunday afternoon. I did see a couple of cyclists who looked as if they were doing it inna there and back stylee. One was fixed and had a wide flat bar, spoke cardz - possibly the veganjoseph bike on previous page.
Well dun everyone...
Peace and love,
Tim -

As Skully says, there are churches in or around most villages, and as long as you're respectful, you can generally fill your boots (bottles!). If they're not obvious, do a quick 360degree sweep, it will probably be on the church wall.
And I find when the calories on the garmin reach 10000, it goes a bit 'tilt'. So I took a picture in case it corrupted! -

Big parts of it just felt like a very extended lap of Richmond Park tbh
Oh dear.^ Leave later, ride slower, avoid roadie groups?
^ This very much. It was probably about 9pm but the time I got out of London, rode slower than usual and saw much less roadie douche bag action. In fact the whole ride felt very calm and quiet this year. Less random/weird riders which was a shame but lovely sunrises and no flies on the beach.

Moto 3G phone. Worth the whole 112 miles just for that view!

What happened to the breakfast stop at the farm about ten miles before the finish or so? Me and @AirTime were looking forward to that as we always stop there and they didn't open this year.
Me too. Skipped the other late stops just to get to that one as the food is always good and they are nice and friendly. Was very gutted when it wasn't there. Ended up having a Clif bar for 'breakfast' which really wasn't the same...

Quick question
I want to invest in some rechargeable front lights with a spotlight function (something with a easy switch function) that can last 10 solid hours. Any suggestions?
I remember that Dancing James had an epic beast a few years ago but hopefully things have evolved more since then. (to be even more epic and more affordable).

Just found an amazing drone top down pic of the beach. Forum jerseys are present!

Nice. I liked the one just after with fresh oven pizza. Made my ride (maybe)
@ChainBreaker exposure lights are the go to option - I have a strada which is a better balance of power/£ but still bright enough for the DD, can bring to SEs (RIP) some time

My problem wasn't with the guys I was riding with, just everyone else. You wouldn't have helped with that ... :p
I enjoyed bits of it, just find the less enjoyable moments encroaching on the good times
Yeah - this is strangely common when people start getting in a line. Close passes suck regardless of the types of vehicle involved.
