Editor of Octane's just bought a lovely series 2 996 Carrera 2 coupe in metallic black with black interior, just over £15k

Does anyone know where I can find torque curves online? I'm finding the wafty 5-series touring a little too wafty. The smoothness and sound insulation is disconcerting in a manual when I've got used to either having a low-down diesel kick or mindless autobox horses.
On the other hand, it's nice being able to have a chat at normal volumes whilst accidentally hitting triple figures and maintaining +30mpg. -

It did the rounds a little while ago, it's fairly standard as these opinion pieces go- take something which is apparent and deny it's happening: much clickbait.

The EV point is interesting though. I think it's half borrowed from a J Leno interview from an ancient Top Gear.
In light of

it will be interesting to see what is still around / survives.I always assumed that because of the... ummm.... distinctive looks the 996 would be a future classic. Although the point about the high sales also makes sense.
For some reason at the moment I'm trawling classifieds 4dr and estate e46 330i.

The one thing they should have evolved from the previous models with the 996 was interior, specifically the dash, IMO.
It's not bad as it is, it just doesn't have that awesome simplicity and single-mindedness of the old models, with the big, high level flat fronted dash, opening out to reveal the classic row of 5 dials, but then I guess the new market they were going for probably found the more cosseting cockpit familiar and appealing

What's the most obvious cause for tyre wear to the outside shoulder - on all four tyres?
I've checked the lower ball joints and there's no play that I can detect. There is knocking in the suspension but I'm assuming that's the effect of the roller bearings in the wishbones transmitting vibration and bumps. This is in a pug gti6, also has a quaife lsd installed, not sure if that affects anything.
Will get the camber and alignment checked but worried there's something amiss.

Can't. Stop. Cornering.
Seriously, the thing is hilarious fun through the twisties. -

Gave the Ram back today, cemented my view that something V8 and auto is in my future, if I don't go electric.

+1
My last couple of visits to Toronto I've gone with the Ram, at less than £10 more per week than a small Nissan Note its a no brainer.

540 wagon if not alpina then? That would tick my boxes.
See 2 alpina saloons around Glasgow lots, both pretty rough though. -

Just read most of this e46 M3 saloon thread
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=578901&page=1Impressive work. Few too many "moar" and I now really appreciate emojis being frowned upon here.
It also occurred to me while reading that other than the E39 and E38, almost every facelift and new model has looked worse than its predecessor. Whereas say Audi or Mercedes tend to look better/equal.

Epic amount of work and full respect to the guy but was there ever a more pointless project?
Have you found much difference between the new and old lights?
